Porto Cupecoy offers jazz, film, food and family fun

This winter, Porto Cupecoy Plaza in St. Maarten comes celebrates its second annual "Arts in the Plaza" with nightly events offering live jazz, food and family fun.

Porto Cupecoy, a luxurious residential resort, an entertainment and shopping complex on the West Coast of St. Maarten, transforms into a vibrant stage December through March where vacationers and locals can enjoy film festivals, winter concert series and farmer's markets.

Every Monday, from 7 pm to 9 pm, Porto Cupecoy offers cinematic adventures under the stars with critically acclaimed French films with English subtitles. Wednesday nights attract music lovers with alternating acts from around the globe. World-renowned musical talents include Jazz musician CJ Johnson and Mosaic as well as Baby Soda Jazz Band, Jose Conde and Trades. Friday nights go to the kids at Ernest and Fidel for a “Family Fun Night.” where children and their parents enjoy a night filled with sports contests, games and prizes beginning at 6p.m..

The area brims with local flavor on Saturday morning at Porto Cupecoy's own open air market abundant with local fruits, vegetables, gourmet food and island crafts from 8 a.m. to noon.

Rendez Vous Lounge and Le Bateau Ivre offers late night dancing with live entertainment beginning at 7 pm.
